13 dec ’26 – Storytelling Workshop – How NOT to be the Hero of your own story

A storytelling workshop with Nia Mercken for curious minds, daydreamers, and anyone who wants to explore their imagination, whether you’re brimming with ideas or convinced you don’t have a single story to tell.

How NOT to be the Hero of your own story

In this workshop, we’ll explore how separating yourself as narrator from yourself as character opens up new possibilities. We all tell stories about ourselves, but when the narrator and the character are the same person, our stories can lack depth. Even when we’re being honest about our experiences, we can still be stuck in “main character syndrome,” where everyone else exists only in relation to us.

Through exercises and play, we’ll practice telling our stories with the awareness that comes from truly inhabiting the role of narrator, someone who can shift perspective and see the bigger picture. This workshop is for anyone who tells personal stories and wants to add depth, nuance, and multiple perspectives to their narratives.

Max 10 participants for personal attention and a close knit atmosphere.
